Travel is just another excuse to try different food – yum! Plus I’ll tell you a bit about my destination highlights.  Note – due to having toddler twins we don’t travel nearly as much as we did.  Having said that, whenever we do travel you can rest assured I’ll be eating up a storm!

Byron Bay

A one night parents getaway to Byron Bay in Septemer 2013, great food, an awesome hotel and a relaxing break.

Yamba

We took a short trip to Yamba in July 2012 and enjoyed a couple of great local places.

Mt Tamborine Cooking School – Sep 11

Mt Tamborine Cooking School – Yes, I know that technically this isn’t travel but it doesn’t exactly fit into ‘eating out’ either.  Although we did eat 9 courses that day…

Perth – May 2011

Perth – mainly focusing on our trip to Margaret River, a wine and food lover’s paradise!

Japan – March 2011

Kyoto – Arriving late and tired to our hotel to find a Ninja themed restaurant… what a way to start our trip!

Kyoto – Lonely Planet’s walking tour of the Higashiyama area including Sanjusangen-do and Kiyomizu-dera and some more info on our hotel… with possibly the longest name for a hotel on record.

Kyoto – The Golden Temple, Central Park, Biotei restaurant, Nishiki Markets and Mamefuji for dinner.

Kyoto – A day trip to the Bamboo Forest and Monkey Park (ergh, monkeys…!).

Tokyo – Harajuku (shopping – yay!) and Meiji Shrine.

Tokyo – Tsukiji Markets, sleet and snow, followed by us fleeing to Nara where the sun was shining.

Nara – an awesome free (!) day tour with a local guide, visiting all of Nara’s best and most beautiful historical sights
