Barefoot is one of my local haunts so I thought it was about time I did a post on them. I’ve enjoyed their burgers at lunch which are well worth trying, and have also had brekky here on a number of occasions. This time brekky was just as good as always
Barefoot is a relaxed cafe located in Palmie in Palm Beach Ave. Punters line up every morning to order their take aways on the way to work and it’s generally the case that there is a line to order but it moves quickly and the staff are great. The cafe is decorated with a vintage industrial feel, you can usually find a spot in the sun but I will say it can get a bit chilly sometimes (roll on Spring!).
For brekky Sime had the Boston Beans on Sourdough with Goats Cheese and added a side of Chorizo. He said the beans were tasty but he felt they needed the Chorizo to give them a bit of flavour kick. The sourdough they serve at Barefoot is great, and the Goat’s Cheese complemented the other flavours. He also ordered the #1 Vegie Juice which was fresh and yummy.
I had the Bacon, Rocket, Avocado, Tomato (BRAT) and Aioli Brekky Burger. This was served on a toasted roll, and was a simple but fresh and delicious flavour combo. I did ask for some Relish to add to the burger (which they didn’t charge me for ), but I think that’s just a pregnancy craving thing (i.e. also tasted good without the relish).
As I said, Barefoot is one of our local haunts and somewhere I’d recommend. Total cost for brekky was around $30 which is really reasonable for good quality fresh ingredients (especially including a fresh juice!). Coffee wise, we’re pretty impressed but still feel that other local Cafes get a better extraction from the Campos beans. Having said that, I’m still drinking coffee here so don’t be put off by that last comment!
